Who are you?
Hello! I am Tibbstales. I am a travel consulting company that specializes in budget travel, solo travel, female travel, and adventure travel. I also plan for groups and write about my experiences online at tibbstales.com
How often do you travel?
I travel as often as I can while in the states, and I try to go abroad at least once a year. (pre covid of course)
How do you afford to travel?
I am very good at budgeting and planning and I make money through Tibbstales to help me travel. I have a lot of tips on my blog.
What’s your best travel story?
One of my favorite travel memories took place on my first adult trip abroad in my first city ever: Amsterdam, Netherlands. I had gotten to Amsterdam two days before all my friends, (How? I am not sure how we booked on different dates, but nonetheless it happened) and I decided to couchsurf with some locals the first night I was there. The guys I stayed with ended up being some of the coolest guys I have ever met and it was during the Euro Cup so the whole block was shut down and there were shows and parties all over the streets. The next day I met some guys randomly at a coffee shop while I was waiting to meet my friend (I never found her) and I ended up hanging out with them for a while at the shop and then after we went to the waters and raced their boats that night. Then after I finally found my friends and had a few more memorable days in Amsterdam. What a great first 24 hours abroad!
Where is your favorite place?
My favorite place is Greece. Greece is one of the only places on Earth and THE only place abroad that I have been to three times. It is my favorite country for so many reasons: the people, the beaches, the food, the beauty, the history, and the atmosphere. There is so much to do all over the country, and I am lucky that I have been able to experience it.
Advice to someone traveling?
It depends on what you are looking to accomplish during your trip. We all travel for different reasons and have different goals. I would recommend following my blog and website so you can get my inside scoop on all the places I traveled to, how I did it, and what I recommend.
